Brand Story

"Accessories that wear meaning -- Kenichi Asano"

In our daily lives, we sometimes need special powers and a sense of security. Accessories are not just decorative items, but have supported people's lives since ancient times as talismans and amulets. As a sculptor with a background in contemporary art, I return to this original meaning and create works that answer the question, "Why do we wear them?"

The Shimenawa series is based on the theme of the symbolic motif "Shimenawa" rooted in Japanese culture. Shimenawa is a barrier that protects sacred spaces and is proof that gods reside there. Its shape is imbued with a special meaning that connects people to gods as well as warding off evil. This series offers four types: "Thick", "Regular", "Thin" and "Extra Thin". Each has a different design and meaning, and can be used widely from everyday life to special occasions.

Currently, I handle all the processes from design to production by myself. Using the woodworking techniques and 3D modeling techniques I have cultivated as a sculptor , I strive to maximize the special meaning and power of each accessory by carefully finishing each one. By fusing traditional techniques with a modern approach, I create one-of-a-kind pieces.

The special power that these accessories bring to your daily life - a sense of security, confidence and a rich heart - is the value we want to deliver.

However, our brand will continue to evolve. In order to deliver this value to more people, we are considering expanding our production system and product lineup. However, what will not change is our attitude of valuing the answer to the question, "Why do you wear it?"

Why not incorporate this special power and meaning into your daily life?
That is my wish, Asanoya Kenichi.
