This ring-shaped pendant is inspired by the Chinowa, a sacred grass ring traditionally used in Japan's summer purification rituals.

At Shinto shrines, people pass through the Chinowa to pray for purification, protection from misfortune, and good health. This pendant reinterprets that symbolic ring as a wearable piece of jewelry.

While it follows the familiar silhouette of a classic ring pendant, it incorporates the form of the Japanese Shimenawa sacred rope, resulting in a design that feels both familiar and entirely original.

The circular form symbolizes continuity, protection, and sacred boundaries.

Shide Charm Model

Featuring a traditional Shide (zigzag paper streamers used in Shinto rituals), this version emphasizes the sacred symbolism of the Shimenawa and Chinowa.

Rope-Only Model

A more minimalist interpretation that highlights the sculptural beauty of the twisted rope itself.
