A "wearable work," crafted by a sculptor.

Drawing on 30 years of sculptural technique, this piece reconstructs the form of a shimenawa (sacred rope) in a contemporary way.
It is made with the aim of creating a piece that, once worn, feels as though special power dwells in your own arm.

The Thin model is the most decorative and dynamic piece in the Shimenawa Bangle series.
By arranging a greater number of shide and tassel-style charms along a slender rope, the piece creates delicate movement and shadow that shift with the motion of the wrist.

Compared to the Thick and Standard models, it gives a lighter impression, yet the larger number of charms still gives it plenty of presence on its own.

For this 2027 Model, the Thin model alone is composed of 4 shide and 3 tassel-style plates, for a total of 7 charms.
To bring it closer to the true structure of a shimenawa, the shide are arranged in an even number and the tassels in an odd number.

A slender rope, the sway of multiple charms, and the brilliance of solid silver.
This piece combines delicacy with rich ornamentation, making it one of the most expressive models in the series.

Concept

At Shimogamo Shrine, I once created and exhibited an arm sculpture roughly 3 meters tall, inspired by the arm of Susanoo.
In that work, a real shimenawa was wrapped around the wrist, with shide hanging down.

This accessory was born from the desire to recreate that sculptural work on one's own arm.

"A god dwells in my arm."
"A god dwells in what my hands create."

It is designed with that sense of pride and prayer.

Features of the 2027 Model

For the 2027 Model, the placement of the charms has been reconsidered based on the true structure of a shimenawa.

The Thick, Standard, and Extra-Thin models feature 2 shide and 3 tassel-style plates, for a total of 5 charms.
The Thin model, by contrast, features 4 shide and 3 tassel-style plates, for a total of 7 charms.

It has the most charms in the series, creating rich movement that follows the motion of the wrist.

In addition, the back of every charm is engraved with the artist's kaō (signature seal).
This elevates the piece beyond a simple accessory, giving it the presence of an art piece crafted by a sculptor.

About the Asanoya Kenichi Limited Custom Model

This model is a Limited Custom edition sold exclusively through the Asanoya Kenichi EC site.
Limited to 10 pieces, each engraved with its own serial number as part of a numbered edition.

Unlike the Standard All-Silver Model, the surface of the rope is individually hand-carved, with the rope's texture carved out piece by piece.

The Thin model features a rope that is slender and light in itself, while the 7 charms give it rich ornamental character.
The texture of solid silver, the shadows created by hand-carved rope work, and the delicate sway of the shide and tassels come together in this Limited edition, giving it an organic character despite being made of metal.

As only 10 pieces will be made, there are no plans to reproduce this exact edition.
Each piece is finished individually by the sculptor's own hand before shipping.

Warranty

For one year from the date of purchase, any breakage of the jump rings connecting the charms will be repaired free of charge.
