Shimenawa Silver Bangle – “Thick” Model

Based on over 30 years of sculptural practice,
the form of the shimenawa is reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

Concept
At Shimogamo Shrine, I once created and exhibited a three-meter-tall sculpture inspired by the arm of the legendary god Susanoo.
In that work, I wrapped a real shimenawa (sacred rope) around the wrist and let shide (paper streamers) hang down.
This accessory was born from my desire to recreate that sculpture on my own arm.

Features & Design
The flagship model “Thick” has evolved into the 2026 Edition.
Pursuing an even more realistic shimenawa texture, the rope’s twists are sculpted in detail, creating a more natural and three-dimensional feel than the previous version.
The shide have been enlarged by 10% compared to the previous model, enhancing their presence.
On the reverse side, my signature is engraved, further elevating its value as an art piece.

Warranty
Within one year from purchase, if the connecting ring that attaches the charm is damaged, we will repair it free of charge.
If the charm itself is lost, the actual replacement cost will be charged.
