Concept
At Shimogamo Shrine, I once created and exhibited a three-meter-tall sculpture inspired by the arm of the legendary god Susanoo.
In that work, I wrapped a real shimenawa (sacred rope) around the wrist and let shide (paper streamers) hang down.
This set was born from my desire to recreate that sculpture on my own arm.
