A "wearable work," crafted by a sculptor.

Drawing on 30 years of sculptural technique, this piece reconstructs the form of a shimenawa (sacred rope) in a contemporary way.
It is made with the aim of creating a piece that, once worn, feels as though special power dwells in your own arm.

For this 2027 Model, the charm composition has been changed from the previous 4 charms to 5.
To bring it closer to the true structure of a shimenawa, it features 2 shide (paper streamers) and 3 plates representing tassels.

Shide in an even number, tassels in an odd number.
Staying true to the original structure of a shimenawa, it has been redesigned as a sculpture meant to be worn on the wrist.

Furthermore, in the Asanoya Kenichi Limited Model, the rope section of the all-silver bangle has its rope texture hand-carved piece by piece.
Unlike the Standard Model, this Limited Custom version retains a stronger trace of the sculptor's handwork.

Concept

At Shimogamo Shrine, I once created and exhibited an arm sculpture roughly 3 meters tall, inspired by the arm of Susanoo.
In that work, a real shimenawa was wrapped around the wrist, with shide hanging down.

This accessory was born from the desire to recreate that sculptural work on one's own arm.

"A god dwells in my arm."
"A god dwells in what my hands create."

It is designed with that sense of pride and prayer.

Features of the 2027 Model

For the 2027 Model, the charm composition has been reconsidered.

The charm count has increased from 4 to 5.
By arranging 2 shide and 3 tassel-style plates, the piece achieves a balance closer to that of a true shimenawa.

In addition, the back of every charm is engraved with the artist's kaō (signature seal).
This elevates the piece beyond a simple accessory, giving it the presence of an art piece crafted by a sculptor.

About the Asanoya Kenichi Limited Custom Model

This model is a Limited Custom edition sold exclusively through the Asanoya Kenichi EC site.
Limited to 10 pieces, each engraved with its own serial number as part of a numbered edition.

Unlike the Standard All-Silver Model, the surface of the rope is individually hand-carved, with the rope's texture carved out piece by piece.

The weight of solid silver, the shadows created by hand-carving, and the sway of the shide and tassels.
Though made of metal, this piece conveys the power and organic character of a true shimenawa.

As only 10 pieces will be made, there are no plans to reproduce this exact edition.
Each piece is finished individually by the sculptor's own hand before shipping.

Warranty
